Hey! This is Meredith. I hope everyone’s enjoying their 4th of July, whether you’re at home or already in Europe! As for me, I’m at home in Louisiana about to go celebrate my 4th of July at the lake, as long as it doesn’t decide to rain. Then I have to finish up packing for my flight tomorrow. I have made the flight to Europe before for a week-long trip to Italy, but it still scares me thinking about flying over all that water. I am lucky though because my dad is making the flight with me to Dusseldorf because he has business in Munich, so I won’t be alone on my international flight. My dad has traveled in Europe a lot for business, and he encouraged me to choose Germany when I started looking into study abroad programs. And from all I’ve heard about the country and the program, I think I definitely made the right choice.
I can’t help being nervous about the trip, mostly because besides going off to college, this is the most on my own I’ve ever been, and in a foreign country! It’s scary, but I know I’ll be with nineteen other Aggies :) And from the little traveling I have done before, I know that you make the most memories when things don’t go quite as you planned or even expected. So get excited ya’ll! And see ya Friday!
