Well this week has been pretty exciting. I am finally getting some much needed laundry done although I have to wear the same clothes as yesterday today. That's because my laundry needs a day to dry. I hope I don't smell. Oh, well. I havn't really talked much about this week, so here goes. On monday we were introduced to the staff and AIB. We also took a tour of Dusseldorf. I was really surprised by the modern architecture. It was also interesting that there were reminders of the Nazi period in Germany's history scattered about the city. On Tuesday, we had our first lecture and German lesson. Then we went on a scavenger hunt that was really fun...even though we got last place. The best part was when we stopped at the Lowensenf shop. We tasted and bought a lot of mustard. Then we ate at a wurst stand. Cheap and good. We topped the day off with a trip to a pink palace.
On Wednesday, we took a trip to Bonn and had a stem cell research and bioethics lecture. We then headed to the history museum. It was history most of us had probably heard before, but it waas cool to hear it from a different side. Thursday, we went to Koln. The cathedral there was by far the coolest thing I have seen so far. When I walked in I was just in awe. The columns tower above you and the stained glass is beautiful. It was really cool seeing the roof and the different periods of construction in the church.
So, this weekend we go to Prague, and I am really excited.
I feel like I am giving a boring summary of my trip so far. I plan to make this more interesting from here on out. Til next time.
