Just call me a wino:)
This was our busiest week yet, but next week may exhaust me even more. On Monday we went to Rheinbiotech in the afternoon to hear about quality control and other stuff like that and also tour the facilities. It was interesting to hear about GLP because we occassionally use GLP in the lab I work at in College Station. Tuesday we went to Wuppertahl and we all looked spiffy in our hard hats, goggles, and lab coats! We toured the Bayer labs then the fermentation factory which looked like a giant brewery to me...but they were just making drugs;)Wednesday was the funnest hump day I´ve had in a long time. We took a train to Bacharach and finally saw the typical German town we Americans imagine. I dipped my feet in the Rhine and we got on a boat to take a cruise down the Rhine. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL...and the breeze almost made me forget that the Germans haven´t picked up on a little thing we Americans call AIR CONDITIONING. I told Dr. Musser that I could live here if only it weren´t in Germany but in Texas. Then we hiked up to the castle...HIKED. When we got to the top the naive found out the train takes you up in a jiffy. We´ll get Dr. Water back for that one. It was a nice castle but when they restore it the way they do things like that I think it makes the castle look fake. Like hanging fake dead birds in the kitchen to make it more realistic to people, but I just think if you left it as is it would be better. After we got back down from the Castle it was time to get crunk! Okay well we had a private wine tasting in a COOL wine cellar. It was great wine and we all had a great time. So, of course, I bought five bottles and now I don´t know how I´m going to tote them around Europe....we´ll seeeeeeeeeeee.
