Going to other people´s host families´ houses makes me feel neglected and abused. I mean, I´m not - they don´t beat me or anything. It´s just how it feels in comparison. Kellie´s host mom is so awesome; Erin and Becca´s family is just hilarious.
It just seemed like we were never at the house and that when we were, we got yelled at - totally not what I expected or wanted out of the host family experience. Although, it is definitely some experience. Oh well, it´s only for a month. I´ll get over the fact that the "child protective services" is not really doing its job.
Anyway, the rumors are true: I saw Dirk´s speedos hanging in their backyard. I did not see "the pose" but that was evidence enough. Erin and Becca´s house is so fun/funny. The whole family speaks German all of the time. It was really funny trying to figure out what they were talking about. To top it off, everyone walks around in their swimsuits. Or as Erin puts it: they prance around in their swimsuits! The 10-year-old girl is funny too. Everyone gets so confused because of the language barrier, and the girl does the best confused face.
And... Dirk thought that I was from China. He asked me if it was harder to learn English or German. Ha.
