This week.

Today is 7/14 Friday, and most students from our group is going to a different country in the EU, except for few of us. I am staying in Dusseldorf, and Ill tell the reasons way in a bit.

Looking back on this weekend, every one will probably agree with me that it was a really busy week. Waking up early in the morning and plus going places all the time. Monday,,, as normal, we had VetMed, and German class, which is interesting, well maybe the German is not so interesting as is the VetMed class. But anyway, In the Afternoon, we went to a company called Rhein Biotech, so us students can visit and observe, learn about the front research line, technology. when we got to this Biotech company, we were lead to a conference room, and there the LONG MONDAY BEGAN. Well it was our first time to visit Biotech too, so the company also didn't know what to give the students, the whole conversation was more like an banking meeting, our a grant conference. Which is really boring. The guy talking was just talking, and not making the presentation interesting or fun to hear.

After the 2 and half hour talk...Which made all of us tired, the company gave us a lab tour. I have to say, the lab tour could have been skipped... Since it was a tour of a normal lab, just like any lab in Texas A&M, I personally work in a research lab, so the labs in Biotech were not new to me, but when I think about it... the labs there didn't really have so called high tech lab machines.... It was just a normal lab to me. This trip it self was fun, but the Biotech talks were a pain.

On Wednesday, I mean this day was just fantastic!!!! A Great day!!!! I had so much fun!! We all went down the rhien and, took a boat on the Rhein back up, taking a boat up the Rhein was just great. It was really beautiful!!!! this boat ride was about 2 hour long...I think,...anyway, some of my friends and I took a nap here on the boat, since it felt so good on top. After the great boat ride, we went to see the Marksburg castle, which was a great tour!!! this castle was build it the 1200s and it has not even once been distorted. Isn't that amazing?? huh? Inside of the castle was really different than I thought, so I really enjoyed it!! The castle it self made you feel like you were actually in the past, it really gave you that kind of feeling.
following the tour was wine tasting at a private wine making family owned cellar. We tasted 5 different winces, which the first one was the lowest quality, and for tasting the quality went up, which makes the 5th tasting the highest quality. But the 3rd and 4th, 5th wine was the same quality, although the taste differed very differently. at the end, I purchased 6 bottles of wine!. Great gifts!!!

Thursday, was visited Bonn, well actually a far in Bonn that is associated with the Bonn University. Here they did experiments with cows and was doing research on genetics. Also this far contained pig as well, which I thought was really nasty and dirty, it made me think about eating pork again, but liking pork so much, made me give up that idea. Over all I really enjoyed this trip to the farm, the VPM-PHD was really smart, it sounded like he really knew his stuff. I had difficult listening, because of my pollen allergies.

On friday, the last day of the week, we had class as normal. German, Vetmad class, and cultural class, but of those two, were actually canceled and all of us got out ealy!!!!! WHOOP!!!!
Now since we got out early, many students left the AIB to leave for their weekend trip. well, for me, I am going to stay in dusseldorf, which I am kindda glad Im doing since I can get some rest and meet the local people. Meaning, that my host familys son is coming in to town to show me around, and we are going to go play soccer with the local Germans, I am really excited about this, it is my chance to meet new people and make new friends. Also play soccer with Germans which I really wanted to do for a long time.! Ill let yall know what happens this weekend in another blog. cio!.
