hey this is chris. i hope all of you had a great 4th of july. well it's one in the morning and im still awake packing. im actually done, im just going over everything making sure i dont forget anything. i have to wake up in a couple of hours to drive to houston and catch my plane there.
if you would have asked me a week ago how i felt about the trip, i would have said i was really excited. but for the past couple of days, ive actually felt really really nervous. ive spoken to my friend mas, who went to germany last year, and he said he felt the same way. i guess the only part of the trip that makes me nervous is that i will be traveling alone to germany, and the flights are so long. ive never been on a plane for more than 45 minutes. another thing im nervous about is forgetting something really important, like my passport or something. i just checked my luggage a couple of minutes ago to see if it's there, and yeah it was. but ill probably check again in the morning.
i havent really spoken to my host family yet. i sent an email about a week ago, but i never got a response. i hope they know im coming. it wouldnt be good if i had no place to sleep.
well, ill let you go now. im going to try to sneak in a couple of hours of sleep before i have to wake up and drive to houston. cant wait to see all of you tomorrow. take care until then.
