I'll start with a quick recap of the week. Monday was pretty relaxed and I met my host mom and her 12 year old son. I really like them and they have been great so far. The rest of the week we toured the city of Dusseldorf, went on a scavenger hunt, visited an amazing hospital, and then went to Cologne. The hospital was a great experience and I got to watch an open heart surgery. The weather at the beginning of the week was extremely hot but not anything that we are not used to. It then cooled off toward the end and rained a little as well. For the weekend we went to Amsterdam which was such a neat city. We had a lot of fun but decided to take the early train back to Dusseldorf on Sunday because we were so exhausted. While we were there seven of us stayed on a boat which was a new experience for me. We also had a random guy from America who met us at the train station in Cologne and basically tagged along the whole time...yes...we were all ready for him to give us some space. He even followed us to the boat we where staying at and stayed there both nights as well. On the way back on the train, a guy set next to me who was studying in Holland and he was from Israeli. As I already mentioned I was exhausted and all I wanted to do was take a nap and he talked to me the entire trip. No lie....there wasn't a moment of silence. Thankfully the train ride wasn't more than a couple of hours. Well...that was the just of what I've been doing, and my host brother is waiting to get back on his computer (which is where he spends the majority of his day...sad I know) so I will blog more soon.
