First side trip

I took my first side trip unexpectedly on Tuesday the 4th. Katie (kit) and I decided not to stick around and watch the game due to a splitting headache on my side and the desire to work on her med application on Katies'. After boarding our train at the Hbf, we followed a map designed by our host mother to the neighboring village of Duisberg. We had no idea where the hell we were and luckily we were able to locate a security guard who spoke halting English to direct us somewhat on how to get home. I learned that Germans are very obliging and that they seem to get a big kick out of silly American girls fumbling their way about the country. I also learned that public restrooms cost about 50 cents to use, so take your money with you everywhere. Whosever idea it was to capitolize on a human beings need to relieve themself is a genius, make no mistake. I think I've found what I want to do with my life.
