First of all let me just say that I am in an internet cafe in duesseldorf. The keyboard is all different and I dont know where the apostrophe is. Anyway, last night we tried to make mexican food for our host family. You cannot find stupid rotel (the staple ingredient in texas food)ANYWHERE in this town. All mexican food is in the special section and it is not good either. But the meal went well none the less, and we ended up talking to our family for a long time about american pop culture. I have learned that pimp my ride is a classic show, jessica alba is "so hot", and Bruce willis "is a cool guy" according to dirk (the guy who walks around in a speedo). Also, Heiß means it is hot outside in german. But i was using it to describe the hot sauce. Only after about 10 min did someone tell me that i had been saying it is very hot outside when i was trying to say the sauce is hot. Regardless, I love my host family. It is so interesting to see what they thing "typical america" is. I showed a picture of my dad to Dirk and his comment was "ah yes, typical american dad". what does that mean? Alright, tchüss zuckers. (that is an advertisement here that we see every day)
