Our second week in Bonn was marked with increased laughter, deeper friendship, and familiar routine.
Monday was a national holiday, so Bonn was pretty sleepy. We still had class, so we navigated the holiday bus schedule to AiB. We continued to learn about medical saints and the history of medicine in the Middle Ages. There are so many cool saints with incredible stories! At lunch, Trinity and I checked out a new church that was around the corner - it was gorgeous. After class we all grabbed a beer at Pendal’s (our favorite spot) and then headed to the Opera for an operetta called “The Merry Widow.” It was actually pretty cool! I usually am not a fan of musicals but this was funny and enjoyable.
On Tuesday, we had more classes and spent time reading in the AiB courtyard. The weather was so lovely. We finished our school day and headed to a biergarten called Rhein Lust - another favorite place! We had many Sangrias and played Blueray. The bus ride home was an adventure haha.. but we got home nonetheless.
We went to Cologne on Wednesday! That was my favorite day. We visited the giant cathedral, had the best gelato of my life, shopped, went on tours, and stayed for daily mass! The weather was so beautiful and I had the best time.
Thursday and Friday were just school days. We spent more time in Bonn and packed for our trip to Norderney.
I’m currently in Norderney, and it’s soooo lovely. More to come!
