I've noticed some things that are different on
trains here. People get up before the train
stops to wait by the door, and if you're already
waiting they are not shy and will push in front
of you if they think there is enough room for
them. Also, when reserving seats it still doesn't
guarantee you get a seat. Apparently they
changed the rail cars around and the seats
we reserved were not even seats on the train.
We all found a seat though, we just couldn't
sit right next to each other. It all worked out
and riding trains is an experience because
the countryside is beautiful and its very
different from just traveling on the highway.
I'm still not homesick yet and I've confirmed
my love of travel.
I love history more than I thought I did it amazes
me how many very important things happened here.
Paragliding was probably the best decision I've ever
made. The view was too beautiful for words. Austria
may even be more beautiful than Germany and I didn't
think that was possible. It took a 15 minute car ride
up the Austrian mountain side to get to the spot we
paraglided from. While we were driving up the
mountain side people were also biking up it, I
don't think I could do that. The hiking trails on
the mountain definitely looked fun though. When
we got to the top we had to sign a contract which
was a little scary but the view was worth it. We ran
down a slope on the top of the mountain and the
parachute caught wind and we were suddenly lifted
up into the air. My guide even let me steer the
parachute myself while he took pictures. When
he took control back over he asked if I wanted to
do something called a roller coaster and I reluctantly
agreed. I'm so glad I did though and it really felt like
I was on a roller coaster while we were spinning and
twisting in the parachute. It was a roller coaster with
incredible views. The next day we went on a sound
of music tour. The views again were amazing and
the little town we went to had the best apple strudel
I've ever had. I would live in Salzburg if I could, it is one
of my favorite cities from the trip. I really like the
outdoors vibe and everywhere you go you can see the
beautiful mountains in the distance.
Now we are on our way to Vienna for another wonderful
experience.
