How many Ags does it take to put on a wet suit...

July 12, 2015

This past week has been jam packed with adventure. We went to a spa in Cologne last week on Monday. We started off with a cable car ride across the Rhine. As we got started we went over the spa. The pools we're beautiful and we started to get excited. Then suddenly I look down and everyone was nude. I mentioned it to Lauren and she started freaking out. The cable car seemed a little poorly -or brilliantly?- placed if you ask me. People were more comfortable with public nudity. Much more so than in America. Other adventures this week included going to the Cologne Cathedral. It was truly amazing -pictures don't do that church justice. Our tour guide didn't show up so instead of taking the elevator half way up we climbed over 500 steps to the top for a breathtaking view.

Another thing I've noticed is very different: there are a lot of smokers here. A lot. Their advertisements are of people smiling and smoking. Back home more common advertisements for cigarettes are of a girl with her face falling off or a man speaking after having a tracheostomy. Two very different worlds.

There were a few more days that we spent in Bonn doing things like going to class and going out. We were released for our free weekend and we took off for Salzburg, Austria. Best decision ever. On Saturday we went paragliding. PARAGLIDING. HOW COOL IS THAT. IT WAS SO PRETTY.
We could see pretty much everything including the Salzburg Fortress which was our next stop after lunch.

The Fortress was really pretty and a lot older than I thought it was. I found this little wooden unicorn and instantly fell in love.I tried desperately to get rings on to his horn but it was impossible.

On Sunday some of us went on another outdoor adventure -canyoning. ALSO SO COOL. We struggled to get in to super tight wet suits and then went off to the gorge. Getting into the wet suit was hands downs the hardest part about the whole experience. The very first waterfall we saw was really tall and we repelled down. It was terrifyingly fun. We went through a lot of pools and waterfalls and jumped off of things that would have given my mother a heart attack. It was gorgeous and freezing cold -well worth the super expensive taxi ride to Lofer, Austria.

Here we are post canyoning excursion. We were hot and tired, but our modeling was on point. I'm glad we all survived relatively unscathed. Things could've taken a dangerous turn very quickly!

Off to Vienna <3
