Amsterdam

So Amsterdam was pretty cool. Unfortunately we were there when a severe storm was taking place. It was so severe that not only were many trees blown down and countless umbrellas destroyed, but it was apparently one of the worst storms since 1901. Because of the weather, our sightseeing adventures were limited. The city itself was interesting, though. The architecture was very pretty as were the canals. The stroop waffles were very good, as was the rest of the food. We stayed in the museum district which included the Van Gogh museum. Unfortunately, the line was very long so we were unable to get in. We did go into the Heineken brewery/museum which I found to be very interesting because Gerard Adriaan Heineken, the founder of Heineken, was very into recycling. The city was constantly busy, and it also had a certain "smell" to it. A certain "smell" that is still illegal in some parts of the United States.  I would like to visit Amsterdam again because I wasn't able to visit the many museums that were there. My overall experience in Amsterdam was still very good, even though the weather was bad.
