Week 2 - Cologne and Ireland

The second week of this study abroad program was definitely more relaxing. Bonn seems more like home, classmates seem more like friends, and traveling seems more like a leisure activity. This week we took a day trip to see the city of Cologne, Germany. Here, my group got to visit the cathedral, which was an indescribable experience. The Cologne Cathedral took centuries to build, and the architectural design, inside and out, shows this. Below, I will attach some photos I captured of the cathedral. Pharmacology class started this week as well. The first day began with understanding the difference between the E.U. and the United States when it comes to producing a drug. We were then assigned to go to a pharmacy and report any differences we can recognize with the drug availability in comparison to pharmacies back at home. This class is more interesting than expected because of the hands-on learning Dr. Fajt has us doing.

At the end of this week came our weekend trip to Dublin, Ireland. We had about 20 classmates come on this trip, which was chaotic but tons of fun at the same time. The highlights of this trip consisted of pub hopping, fish and chips, the Guinness Tour, the Jameson Tour, and the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher. Our last day (Sunday), we took a day trip to go see the Cliffs of Moher. We went on a tour called Paddywagon tours, which I would highly recommend. The cliffs get to about 700 feet tall, and they are on the southwestern side of Ireland (total opposite side compared to Dublin). Below, I attached some photos I took. This place is definitely a must-see.
