I board the plane today for Frankfurt, and yet as I sit
here, bags packed, it still doesn’t feel real. I have never been to Europe, or
out of the U.S. for that matter, so this will be a whole new experience for me.
I cannot wait! I am extremely excited and slightly antsy. I am eager to observe
a new culture, to learn what our host family’s everyday lives are like, and to
see the landscape of Germany and the surrounding countries. And the food… I am very
excited for the food. I don’t really know what to expect, which is what makes
me so nervous. I know this will be a life changing experience and a summer I will
never forget.
