Czech out the views in Prague

After a week in Vienna, Austria most of us traveled to Prague for the weekend. We intended to stay until Monday, but because of flight prices and the thought of having one day off sounded amazing, we came back to Bonn on Sunday. We took a charter bus through beautiful countryside, where every time I looked over Gabe was taking pictures out the window (I don't blame him, it was gorgeous), and arrived in Prague around 11 PM. We quickly realized that we had no money for any public transportation so we called an uber. I was very hesitant with calling an uber, because last time we did in Munich, we were taken to the wrong destination 3 times and still had to walk almost 40 minutes at midnight to our hotel. However, this ride turned out a lot better! The driver even put my bag in the car for me and opened my door. I think one of the things I was most excited about when we got to the Airbnb was the room I was in had air conditioning. Good golly miss molly, I could actually use all the covers and not burn up in the middle of the night. It was fantastic. Unfortunately though, our showers were the temperature of the South Pole. Since we got back fairly late, we decided to sleep in a little before heading into Old Town. We got to town just in time to watch the astronomical clock sound. We grabbed a bite to eat then went into an art museum featuring Dali, Mucha, and Warhol. We then made our way to the Prague Castle. We made sure to get a delicious and fresh fruit juice made of strawberries, mangos, and kiwis before making the trek up. The view from the top of the hill was jaw droopingly beautiful. So, naturally we took a ton of pictures. We walked around St. George's Basilica that afternoon then headed down the hill for dinner. We stopped to eat at a restaurant on the Vltava River. The food and drinks were amazing, but still came in second compared to the view from our table. After having a grat tim at dinner, we walked over to the Charles Bridge which is supposed to have one of the most amazing views at sunset/sunrise. Maybe one day I'll see it, because unfortunately it was too cloudy that evening. We quickly decided we were in need of a Czech dessert called a Trdelník. It was a cinnamon and sugar covered bread that they filled with strawberries and vanilla ice cream. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. That night the majority of us decided to go to an Ice Pub. Talk about chilly, I think it was around -7°C and everything, like actually everything, was made of ice. It was definitely a neat experience. Afterwards, we went back to the Airbnb and just hung out for a few hours before going to bed.

The following day we went out for brunch in the town. We ordered our food and noticed the clouds were getting a bit darker than usual so we pulled up the forecast. It was about to pour. Luckily, we were able to grab our things and move inside right before the rain began to fall. After enjoying a great flatbread, we scooted on over to the chocolate museum. I have to admit, I didn't read everything in the museum but I did try each piece of chocolate. So much chocolate. Once it was over, we were able to watch how two men took a blob of sugar and craft it into these tiny, hard candies with a pineapple inside each bite. It was fascinating to watch because nobody knew what they were making until the came out perfectly. This was the last thing we did before grabbing a bite to eat at the airport and flying back. Overall, Prague was wonderful! It was a little stressful because of the different currency and new language barrier, but I would definitely go back.
