Chasing Waterfalls in the Black Forest

For the 5th weekend, a group of us travelled to the Black Forest and what an adventure it was. It started when our train was running late which compounded to the next trains that followed. There was a lot of running and stressing but at the end, it worked out as always. However, when we arrived at our town (Oppenau), some of the group forgot to get off, which caused them to be forced to go to the next stop in which they couldn't get the door opened. Finally, 3 stops later, they got off, ran some lady down, and hitchhiked back to where they should've been.
Despite, the complications with traveling, it was worth it all. It was worth it for the memories that we could tell our kids about, and furthermore, it was worth it for the sheer beauty of the place we were in. Our air BNB was stellar, chasing waterfalls was a blast, and exploring the town was beautiful. We met many local townspeople who surprisingly spoke English and welcomed us so well. However, what's a trip without more complications? When we arrived at the waterfall, one of the students saw a blog that said the last bus to town left at 20:00 so we planned the hiking accordingly. We decided to leave at 19:30 to give us buffer time which is when the student decided to inform us about the fact that the blog post was from two years ago. Sure enough we arrive at the bus station and find out the last bus left 3 hours ago. Long story short, we did a lot of walking that night. However, the beauty of the environment around us made it all worth it. From the many grazing pastures to the vast mountainsides inhabited in a scattered fashion, you could call it the scenic route.
That night was a blast. We enjoyed each other's company in our air BNB, told scary stories, and embraced each other's company, realizing that we only had one week left. The last day, we hiked around and took it easy because we didn't want to get too lost before our train left. We departed at 14:30 and somehow everything ran smoothly. We made it home and I was in denial that my last week in the Europe had just began.

*side note: I currently don't have wifi while posting this so I will post the pictures later.
