Switzerland

The fiesty ocho took the opportunity to travel to Switzerland on our long weekend. It is by far the best place we have been so far, in my opinion. We stayed in the mountain hostel. To get there you had to take a private train that apparently didn´t take the eurail pass we were using so cost 5 euros for a 15 minute ride. Then you have to get the only bus for 4 dollars and then get on the gandala up into the mountains for another 5 dollars. The hostel was in Gimmelwald which is in the mountains. The view was amazing. You are literally standing on a mountain surrounded by other mountains. No pictures did justice and there is no way to really describe it. The afternoon we arrived we hiked around for a while. We went a little off trail for just a little while. If the boys would have had there way we would still be lost in Switzerland. We found a bridge with glacier water running under it. As soon as you got close to it, the temperature dropped and felt so good. We went back to the hostel later and met some people from Dallas. The next day we went canyoning :) It was so great. Our leaders were really awesome. 5 of us went together and we had some aussies with us and two girls from finland. They drove us about an hour away where we stood in an open field and changed into our wet suits. We then went to a random highway road they tided some ropes on the rails and we repelled down 50 ft. We then went through a series of jumps and slides and zip lines through the canyon. When your head pops out of the freezing water, it is a really great face...especially Elsie´s. My favorite part was probably the water slide while a free fall at the end. Our last day we hiked around. One of the nights a thunderstorm came through. It was really beautiful to see the mountains outlined against the sky. It was also nice to be cold and actually where a sweater!! It has been so hot in Germany. We took a night train from Switzerland to Vienna. I´m not sure how much sleep I actually got, but I can say I went on a night train through Europe, and that is what counts :)
