The first full day in switzerland has been unbelievable. It is by far my favorite weekend trip so far...Expensive, but fun! It was a huge mistake not to put Switzerland as one of my five countries on the Eurail Pass. There are many spots where using your Eurail pass gets you discounts. Our hostel is at the top of a Gondola which is 11.20 Franks round trip, and only 8 ChF with a Eurail Pass.
Yesterday, we arrived at our hostel, ate the 18 Frank pizza, and socialized with other hostel residents (most are college aged) We then booked a canyoning tour for Saturday morning. It was well worth the 150 + Franks! We repelled down a huge rock wall, navigated through the rocks and water, ziplined, slided, and cliff jumped all in the bottom of a canyon. We had originally signed up for the extreme canyoning adventure, but since there was rain the night before, the water levels weren't stable enough to go to that part of the canyon. The entire adventure took 6 hours.
It is going to suck leaving our beautiful hostel tomorrow, but I am excited to see what the program has in store for us in Austria!!
