Our trip to Prague was worth the extra country on our Eurail pass. Man it was the most beautiful city I have ever seen. The architecture was old and preserved well. It had such an awesome feel and it didn’t seem to matter where you turned there was a feast of beauty for your eyes. We arrived Saturday morning and the team split to their various Hostels to get registered. It was our first time away from Dr. Wasser and Nills so getting around at first was interesting. The team was just learning that it is very difficult to make decision with 10 people. Once we got to our hostels we hit the town. We congregated in a little town square that had live music playing. We had heard thing were cheaper in Prague but the food rivaled Bonn and Berlin. They either were talking about the souvenirs or we hit the touristy area first. Most grabbed a sausage and bun (love the buns by the way, much better bread than the US) and a beer. I grabbed a stick with Chicken and veggies roasted on a grill. Seriously, the chicken kabob was so delicious (not to be confused with the Turkish Kabobs). They had this really yummy honey mustard that went great with the chicken and veggies. After we grabbed a bite we took off to the castle. Some of the team went to the Sex machine museum and the rest of us went to the Castle. The castle was fascinating. It was beautiful inside the courtyard along with every building we visited. There was a giant cathedral inside the castle grounds. I bet this is true of most castles, but this was insane over the top. It was of the gothic style with ornate details all over the place. We walked out after touring the cathedral to find flurries outside which upped the castle experience a notch.

One slightly humorous, but also sad sight was walking out of the cathedral to find this lady posing on it. She was in this medieval garb with her boobs practically falling out and she was making all these scandalous poses on the outside of the cathedral while a photographer took her picture. Daniel looked at me and was like, “Dude that’s messed up, I think she is defiling it.”

The next astounding site was leaving the castle. The view from the hill of the city solidified the thought that this is the most beautiful city I have ever seen. The way the light captured the architecture with the layers of the city. It was breathtaking. I don’t think pictures can do it justice. We had quite a journey to the hostel traveling down the crazy hills and stairs. The walk from castle to hostel took about 40 minutes and every minute was worth it. I actually enjoy the walking; I feel very good getting the exercise. We ended the night with a great dinner at this Italian restraint. I enjoyed some green tea, veal and grilled vegetables and split some tiramisu with Kelly.
