A Fun Time in Hamburg

After our little adventure in the far north of Germany half of the group decided to go down to Bonn or France and the other half we went to the second largest city of Germany, Hamburg.  The train ride wasn’t terribly long and our hostel was in a very convenient part of town, right next to the hauptbahnhof in addition there was a very cheap and hair cut place right next to the hostel too.  While in the hostel watching the Olympics opening ceremony I met an interesting fellow working at the hostel he was a soccer player originally from Cuba a very fluent Spanish speaker as he recognize my accent as soon as I met him.  The next day, the group went about the nice shopping center we all found something to purchase even Caleb and I got something, I can’t say no to a good looking pair of shoes that are half price from their original normal value.  We tour many of the bridges, the harbor, and a couple of churches of Hamburg and even saw a large statue of the great chancellor Otto von Bismarck.  Next we traveled the large garden in the interior of the city where we saw a lot of beautiful types of flowers from various parts of the Germany and of the world I assume.  Finally after a long walk about the city we dinned together and returned back to the hostel to rest up for our night out in the town.  I must say this has been truly one of the more fun nights on the trip as it was strictly all local we didn’t go with the hostel I met some pretty interesting Germans a for the night interesting but nice people.  Most of our Sunday was spent traveling around the inner city seeing the church and we went to the top of one of the spires of the church for an amazing paranomic view of the city to end our stay in Hamburg before heading back to our beloved little Bonn.
