A Week Full of Trips

Sunday was a really chill day and I am glad I got to spend it in Bonn. This weekend there was a festival going on at the Museum of Natural History so it was free to visit and we definitely took advantage of that. A group of us met up for lunch at Tacos Bonn which was actually really delicious. I got chicken enchiladas and they were so much better than in America. It was definitely worth it. However, I am very disappointed that they don't have queso here! The waitress had no idea what we were talking about.
After lunch, we headed to the museum where we encountered our first train issue. We were waiting at the door to get off on our stop, and then the doors just didn't open. I yelled at somewhere to run to another open door and everyone just looked at me. So we rode the train to the next stop, got off, ran around to the other side of the tracks, and then hopped on the next train to go back to the museum. We were like children in the museum. All the animals were so cool looking and it was a very large museum. After walking around the museum, we were so hot and exhausted, we wanted to try out a community pool. The water was super cold so we all just stood in it waist deep and didn't really actually swim. But it was definitely a nice way to relax and cool off. I had a nice dinner and went to bed before our long day in Koblenz.
Monday we had a neurophysiology of music class where we recapped what we learned about sound waves and then continued on with learning how different rooms are built and how that affects the way we perceive the sound, which was really cool. We then tested it out by visiting an opera house in Koblenz. It is one of the oldest opera houses still standing. It was cool getting to tour the whole opera house. We got to see the makeup room, the costume room, the painting room, and the carpentry room. We also got to visit the fortress Festung Ehrenbreitstein. We took the cable car up to it and we got to have a beautiful view of all of Koblenz. I have never seen a more beautiful sight. We then returned home, and I immediately went to sleep after showering cause I was exhausted about a long day of lectures and sight visits.
Tuesday came and went and was a super fun day with the girls. We had our first German lecture in the morning with Hilda and she was so funny and I really learned a lot. We learned how to count and even learned a chant and march to help us learn how to count to 10. We then had double history of medicine lectures which were interesting cause we learned about a woman who we will get to learn more about in another site visit to Bingen. My group was done at lunch time and a couple of girls and I went to a burger place. It was so delicious. I had an avocado burger and I never eat burgers so that says something about how good it was. We then had a little girls shopping day and I got to buy my first pair of Birkenstocks! They're maroon and I wanna wear them everywhere they're so cute and comfortable. I was so happy to have a shopping day to relax with the girls and I can't wait for more moments like these.
